The majority of The Camping and Caravanning Club’s 109 UK Club Sites have reopened ahead of an eagerly-anticipated summer season.
Sixty-four open on April 2nd including the new environmentally-friendly
Ashbourne Site, run by franchisees Gabriel Hutchings and Denise Ingrem.
Four of the Club’s other new Sites –
Corfe Castle,
Dartmoor Barley Meadow,
Polstead and
Tavistock – are already experiencing high volumes of visitors whilst
Skye will open for business on April 8th.
With advanced Site bookings currently up by 27 per cent, and with more
people than ever claiming to want to stay in Britain for their holidays this
year, Sites Director Bob Hill is expecting a record-breaking season.
He said: “In the current economic climate, camping and caravanning are
enjoyable family and cost-efficient options and we are already reaping the
benefits.
“Our Sites offer that freedom and flexibility that other holiday
alternatives cannot and our Holiday Site Managers and Franchisees will be on
hand across the country to make that family camping experience as enjoyable
as possible.
“We cater for all forms of camping and our ultimate aim is to make sure that
members as well as non-members enjoy the outdoors and share the adventure.
“We are really looking forward to the season ahead,” he added.
