What did we think?

The heater is surprisingly lightweight, and a reasonable size for packing away. We set it up for our first outing from the centre cross poles of our awning and with the long length of cable we were able to feed this down the poles and to the power supply, without the cable getting the way or becoming a trip hazard. The other advantage of having it hanging from the roof is that it's away from the reach of small kids, or dogs. I had worried that having it hanging may distort the roof, but it was light enough to hang there without bending the pole! Adults could bang their heads on it, so you'll need space to hang it and ensure it is away from the sides of your tent or awning.

Heating a tent or awning safely is a worry for many, with lots of people concerned about the implications of having gas appliances running inside, so provided you have electric hookup, this is a perfect solution. On the other hand of course, the fact you need EHU could be a possible downside for some, as could be the size of the heater if you have limited space for packing, as it's around 17 inches in diameter.

The shape of the heater means it radiates the heat downwards, and it seemed very effective. With the two heat settings the Outwell Fuji Electric Camping / Patio Heater quickly warmed up the awning and within a short while we had to revert the heater to the 600w setting to hold the heat and keep us toastie warm.

Overall this is a superb, lightweight and easy to use camping heater, that is ideal for anyone wanting to keep warm, whether in the home, in the garden, on a campsite or on your boat, just make sure you have enough space.
