What’s The VolksWorld Show all about?
If you’re a VW fanatic then you’re probably hot on your wheels, and your
show diary is perfectly polished ready for the New Year, so you’d have heard
of Europe’s biggest VW show. On the 28th and 29th of March 2015 The
VolksWorld Show will be retuning once more to grace the tracks of Sandown
raceway to wave the checker flag for a first class weekend. Come and give
your biggest “oohs” and “ahhs” at the breath taking, heart throbbing, jaw
dropping air-cooled and water-cooled displayed VWs. From Beetles, Splits,
Early Bays, Late Bays, to Type 25s, T4s and T5s, lined up is the perfect
selection box for even the fussiest of fans.
The Cars and Campervans on display
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Karmann Ghia, and of course
naturally a historic moment like this couldn’t pass by without a
celebration. Show sponsors VW Heritage have succeeded in persuading the
Karmann Museum in Germany to especially borrow and ship three prototypes for
the weekend. If they’re as good as the pictures than the original 1953
Karmann Ghia prototype, the never-seen before 1962 design study and the Type
34 Razor are really going to blow your smokes. Despite their rarity, these
cars are not trailer queens, and every so often are taken out of the museum
for a drive around the streets of Osnabruck!
Keith Seume, original editor of VolksWorld and guru is on deck to celebrate
the 40th anniversary of Cal Look. Adorned and known to many with a love for
VW’s, the display organised is guaranteed to delight fans of fast moving,
nose down Beetles. To continue the year of monumental celebrations,
definitive examples of the original 70s style have been brought together
right up to the present day to create a timeline storyboard in commemoration
of 40 years on since Hot VWs first coined the phrase ‘Califorina Look’.
To put the cherry on top of the icing already seamlessly layered on top of
the cake, don’t forget The VolksWorld Show is Europe’s biggest VW show, so
of course there are more than two special displays. You can be assured that
the girl next door and boy across the way who’s VW’s have dazzled the
VolksWorld team with their paint jobs and rust less rims will stop you in
your tracks. Make sure you leave yourself enough time to really check out
the fine details put into these cars by the owners that makes each one
Two Show Giveaways
2015 has bumped up the ante, with two giveaways. Firstly the show sees
the launch of the VW Heritage & VolksWorld competition to win a drive in the
Dunube Classic Rally. This fantastic prize gives one lucky winner the chance
to drive a classic rally Beetle in one of one most prestigious historic road
rallys in the world. VolksWorld will supply the historic rally-prepared
Beetle, a German co-driver to help with the course notes, full mechanical
back up, airport transfers to and from any UK airport and all accommodation.
You can even bring your partner or friend to sit in the back of the car as
you tackle the twists and turns of the roads in and around the Barvarian
town of Ingolstadt. All you need do is make sure you hold a full driving
licence and can make the rally dates - the 18th-20th of June 2015.
Secondly, win a trip to the home of VW curtesy of Just Kampers and Autostadt.
They have teamed up to offer a fabulous VIP, expenses paid trip for two to
the home of VW, Wolfsburg. Just Kampers is taking care of the flights and
two nights at one of the best hotels in Wolfsburg. Not only will you get the
VIP treatment with a museum guide, but you’ll also be able to take a driving
attraction either on the all-terrain track or the skidpan. Finally, Just
Kampers Insurance will keep you covered by giving you some spending money.
Cars are not it all…
Yes it’s a car show, but The VolksWorld Show is double stuffed with
entertainment, activities, and plenty to keep your eyes fixed, but be sure
that nothing is missed! The VolksWold team say it’s a must to grace the cool
Flo Arena to get stuck in with their excellent entertainment across the
weekend and cruise along on the great vibe they’re sure to create. But
that’s not the only atmosphere you’ll want to get wrapped in, don’t forget
the club area with its unique edge at the show. With hundreds of vehicles,
from daily drivers to show winners, representing all facets of the VW
community, there is sure to be something for everyone. Stock up on the parts
you’ve been searching far and wide for in the Karmann Konnection Swampmeet,
and maybe bag yourself a few show-only deals from the one hundred plus line
up of Traders. Or if parts are not your thing then you will sure to find
some goodies to remind you of 2015. Visit their website where a full list of traders that will be there can be found.
They’ve told us that there is so much going on it’s hard to squeeze it all
in. On top of the entertainment areas, club areas, the hidden treasures
Swampmeet, and Trader’s marketplace, the 2015 VolksWorld Show has laid on a
bundle of kids activities from face painting, to colouring competitions, to
their own Splitscreen bouncy castle to bounce the day away. Throughout the
day tech talks have been scheduled to help you, inspire you and guide you,
and of course no day at The VolksWorld Show is complete without your own
Camper photo booth polaroid to remember the fun.
