For those of you who haven't read my other post I have just acquired a 2006 Sunncamp TT but it did not come with the kitchen Unit. Can anyone tell me where I might be able to source one from or at an even longer shot is anyone about to break an old TT with a kitchen unit or has one they don't use that they might consider selling.
We are talking the longest on long shots with a long extension here I know but who knows. Don't ask don't get.

do you need the kitchen? our TT is factory made without one and tbh I'm glad as they are quite weighty especially compared to my camping kitchen which comprises of kitchen unit, table, halogen oven and (not in pic) twin electric hob (plus mini fridge, table top freezer, kettle, toaster & electric milk whisk in photo ) I have a washing up bowl under the kitchen unit. I make sure I know what amp the supply is and calculate the most electric I can use at once to ensure I don't trip it.

Did you tt have a kitchen originally? If not, then it's not so simple as fixing one to the back. I imagine that as Sunncamps are a copy of Conways, the axle would need to be moved rearward to accomodate the extra weight. New transit cover needed too. Some Conways and Cabanons have the holes in the chassis and room in the wheel arches to do this, some dont.I have no idea if yours does.If it had a kitchen and it is now missing, then they do pop up from time to time, Conway or older Cabanons are the same dimensions and should fit,or at least will be simple enough to modify.

WOW Tynxuk thats a hell of a setup. I suppose I dont really need one as we do have a couple of smaller rings and we do tend to cook on open fires. I would love to take a setup like that but we dont often go to sites with hookups or a discharge station which is why we are getting rid of the porta pottie that came with it.
Miserly. You have made and excellent point and I must admit its one I have not thought of and I now feel a bit silly. It looks like all the fittings are there as there are a lot of catchs and things that are not used for the tail board. I dont think the weight would be a problem as the privious owner has fitted the biggest tow bar box I have ever seen fitted and it is a tiny bit nose heavy so it might even help matters. I have the original recipt and it does not mention the kitchen and it is listed as the standard unit not the SE that came with the kitchen but I suppose the dealer might have removed it to save delivery time. Who knows. I have been searching hard and cant find any so if one pops up in the future then I will have to consider options then.

If the tailboard, (with lights and number plate), is fixed to the trailer and just unclips and folds down then it is fairly certain it was made without the kitchen attached.

It dosent fold down. There are two clips either side with adjustable arms. Little bit like adjustable flight case clips. You unlatch them and the trailer board lifts away and there is a multipin plug for the wires so the whole unit can be lifted away.

As you have been tent campers, I assume you will have your existing cooking equipment? Why not take this the first time out and see how you get on? You may find that the large storage box is more useful than you think as it is amazing how much stuff they hold.

Look underneath the unit on the one i had (with kitchen) there where 2 sliding arms with thumbscews to losk them in place thes slid out for the kitchen to be mounted on i would imagine they would not be ther on one without just a long shot why not get the serial number off the plate on Aframe and give sunncamp a bell or emai and ask them

yes all the rails and thumbscrew threads are there but the inner runners are not.
I know I don't really need one. I do still have all our cookers from our lightweight rig and we have more than enough room in the load box. I'm being a bit of a tent tart, I just really like the idea of having a nice custom unit with everything together. We have the space and lodsa tow weight to spare so its more of a case of if we can then why not. We have gone from our entire site fitting in two rucksacks to a huge trailer and seeing as we have the space I suppose I just wanted some big toys. Its not going to affect our camping at all as it is what you make it and that's the beauty of camping is that you can make it your own.

On our Sunncamp 400SE, the centre of the axle is 680mm from the back edge not including the kitchen. The one you are looking at on fleabay may be the one off your unit !!. But with a 6 hour round trip and about £50 in fuel I hope its worth it. Do you have any pics of the back of your unit as is.

I have to say I felt the same way about having the kitchen on ours, but the novelty has worn off a bit! Its really heavy, although we are going to fit castors to it, and doesn't have the flexibility of our tent set up. It is extra storage, but like you we aren't short of storage. The only thing I would really miss is waste water disposal, and I'm sure I could rig up a substitute for that if I really wanted to.
Have you looked into buying a good kitchen stand to complement your lightweight kit? There's a lot of choice out there, and it could still be quick and easy to set up.

We do have a very good kitchen stand that came with the TT when we bought it. We have more than enough kitchen gear but it is all very light weight stuff and we wanted to get some slightly more rugged stuff and the kitchen seemed to be a good way of hitting all the buttons. We have all the gear to have an awesome time camping and its not going to be a game ender if we cant get a kitchen unit but if we can get one at the right price then I think its worth a go and if we are wrong then at least we know.
I will put some pics up of our rig later on today but the runners are there but the nuts do need cleaning out as they are full of galvanising. The eBay seller has said that he has the sliding arms and bolts that he will include in the sale and we have family in the area so if we get it at the right price the collection costs will be negligible as we will check onto a local site and make a weekend of it and see the family as well.
I accept that this may well be one of the stupidest things I could possibly do as a new TT owner but its not going to cost mega bucks and the wife and I are bound to have a few laughs along the way so why not give it a go.How hard could it be ?????
