We haven't been able to make it to the NEC this time. Has anyone seen this model? We went to Black Country Caravans a couple of weeks and saw the Kite version - really impressive. We actually went to look at the Triango Alpha!!
I have seen a YouTube video of the Windforce system in action on the Cocoon Aero Easy trailer tent -
this system appears to be included in the price, but the kitchen is approx £2,000 extra.
I haven't seen (a demo in the flesh so to speak) - this is why I was dissapointed at not being able to get to the show.
The Holtkamper Kyte XL doesn't have the Windforce system included in the price (as this is extra) but does have the kitchen included.
I would have been interested to see the demo at the NEC on how much difference the Windforce system makes to the erecting of the unit.
If anyone has seen the demo...would be interested to hear.
I have the windforce system fitted to my kyte xl,have looked at layout of the cocoon aero and it looks like a smaller version of the kyte.
The roof pole in the living area of the kyte is made of carbon fibre, so when raising the roof of the living area to its full height it required 2 people, as there was a danger of twisting the carbon pole.
The reason we went for the windforce system was so that a single person could put up the kyte. Ours went back to Holland to have this fitted. All the poles in the living area were changed to carbon fibre and an additional pole was introduced at floor level opposite the bed.
The bed was also changed slightly in that the slat supports have a bit of an air gap between the bedframe and the slats to allow the air in.
The airpump is on the side of the trailer, this has to be swivelled and engaged into flapped holes under the bed depending on whether you are putting it up or down. It is rated at 1100W so quite powerful reminds me of jet engine when switched on.
There are a couple of other benefits, in that the groundsheet to the living area is flatter due to windforce. Also it can aid in drying out the canvas if its damp from dew say on a packup.
We have a large kidsroom attached to the living room and found we had to give it a bit of a hand when packing up.
Realistically it saves about 10 minutes on putup and takedown.
I could not find a specific video for the Aero if you could paste the link I will verify that its similar to the kyte.
Did you speak to Chris at black country and enquire if he is going to get an aero in. He had an Aero when we were down early last year but I only had a quick nose.
Thanks for your reply. Just to correct myself first - the video I have seen is on Holtkamper home page - click on products tab then click on wind force system and it shows you a video of the Kyte not the Cocoon in action.
I think on refection, if we could go for any, personally I would love a Kyte....lots of thinking to do.
