Hi guys not sure if anyone can help. I've just upgraded to a folding camper from a trailer tent. And I'm having a issue with my leisure battery it keeps going flat even when I'm on hook up with all my switchs in the right place. I found that info on this site just wondered weather there's a built in charger somewhere that my have failed or am I doing something wrong. My camper is a pennine Pullman 535 thanks

How old is the battery? Sounds like battery isn't holding its charge. Do you have a local battery business that do free battery tests to see whether there is a fault with the battery? Alternatively, if you have a battery charger put it on charge and then see what happens.

I don't know the technicalities, but I've learnt from this forum that the in built chargers don't charge as well as a separate battery charger that you plug in to the mains. There are lots of threads on the forum about batteries and charging.

If the battery came with the camper and a few years old, you may need new battery.

You don't say how old the camper is, but this is a useful website that might help:

Thanks for the response 👍🏻 I'll look in to it. I've got the battery on charge at the mo so I'll see how it goes. its a 2003 I've found a receipt for the bat in my paper work I got with it and it's year old thanks. One other thing me and my family were away this weekend and I had the mains hook up plugged in but I only had plug sockets. Fridge. No lights. Water. Heating. I thought this was because the battery had gone down but since found the mains should do it all with out a battery fitted or tho that's not recommend is this correct

Check that all the fuses in the panel under the seating (R looking at the kitchen end) are in their correct position ... and that the charger switch is in the correct position.

The Blue Sky site is terrific ... you can e-mail him for help ... or he may see this and respond directly ...

Quote from another post,

"Although it's true, you don't need a battery in place for the 12V electrics to run, off EHU, it's not recommended. Extract from the Pennine manual; "It is recommended the leisure battery is always 'in circuit' when the system is in use". This is, mainly, because, as well as storing power, the battery acts as a buffer, smoothing out power spikes and protecting the system. Always a preferable option, if you can."

Kelper I've checked all fuses and they are all fine. The charger switch is that switch under the cupboard as you open the door on the left ? Cheers

The charger switch is on the top of the mains unit under the seating in my 535 (2003). It lights up when charging.
