We camp mainly with C&CC on their DA meets as its the cheapest option and we can get out mote often. We have made friends with a few family's and meet up with them a couple of times a year. Lately we've noticed there aren't so many children coming along to camp. Our 12 year old daughter is beginning to get bored with it and would rather stay at home with her friends. We have taken a friend along on a few occasions.

I'm hoping there are other people in the same boat who would like to "pal" up with us on local DA meets or maybe get together at cheap sites on a regular basis. If you haven't been on a DA meet before and would like to try (especially if you have a child of similar age)then please get in touch and we'll meet up.

Our next planned weekend away is at Royal Victoria Country Park, Netley, 6ht September.

Hi Dave,

They just have a rally field there and only clubs use it - so if you belong to C&CC it would be good to meet up with you there. Haven't let my daughter loose on twitter yet, mainly because I don't get on with it!

Teresa

Hi homebird.
I havent been on this site for ages, just noticed southampton family,so had to read more....
I remember you from early this year, when there was a meet organised grundys farm dorset.do you remember you couldnt come, which was a shame.

I am like you just came on the site asking if anyone was interested in getting together,as there didnt seem to be anything going on down south, all seemed to be going on up north.then ali came on showing an interest and hey a number of us got together.had a good time my two granchildren age 11 and 7 loved it.never did it before and havent done it again.myself and hubby been doing a bit touring in our camper van.although have had a holiday with the family in the trailer tent in chichester lakeside park. I am keen for a meet.
              Maria.

Hi, no unfortunately we couldn't make Gundrys - it sounded like everyone had a good time. I'm not sure when we can get out in the caravan again. We were hoping for next weekend with the C&CC at Riverside Lakes, Horton but our daughter doesn't want to miss guides on Friday evening and it would be a bit of a pain having to go and set up and come back for her.

We really would like to get together with others but it needs to be fairly local and cheap!! We don't need EHU or toilets/showers.

We're doing the southwest Halloween meet with our 12 yr old daughter in Calne, Wiltshire, it's during the half term week with no minimum or maximum nights.

Not sure if that's a possibility for you :-)

We're going away to Devon that week, with the rest of our family, otherwise we would have joined in on that one.

We are thinking of re-joining the Caravan Club as our local Centre seems to have an active youth group which hopefully will help our daughter make some new camping buddies.

Hi homebird. I didn't realise your daughter was the same age as mine. I also have a 9yo boy.

We should coordinate going to the same DA meet this year. As you know, we also like Royal Victoria park, but we also want to try out some other local THS. I think we go to similar places though as we've discussed this before.

We tend to pencil in places and wait until nearer the time to make a decision about going. Out first weekend will probably be May bank holiday, weather permitting (as always). If it doesn't look warm, we might have to go somewhere with hook up instead.
