That was quite a sound to hear in the middle of the dark night last autumn! Not sure when I'll be free but will bear the dates in mind.

Not a problem getting up there as its all A roads after Glasgow....But the site itself is on a single track road with passing places...Without knowing the size of your MH I would advise approaching the site from the Clachaig Pub rather than through the village...Shorter that way...and sets you up for the left hand turn into the site..

Seen plenty of small(VW's) to medium MH's on the site so people do manage to negotiate the single track road and the sharp turn into the site...

If you get up early and take a walk round the site..You may just get a shot of some hinds who regularly visit the Squirrel in the quieter times...I have had a few good pic's taken at the bottom of the site...And first ever visit April 2012 Got some shots of stags on the river bank...A few weeks ago I even got some shots of a Stag wandering about the beer garden in the pub???

Think its the same one that Jim has had a few pics of this year...Reasonably tame and will let you get quite close...But I wouldn't go too near during the rut as the boys can get a bit cranky and het up during it...

Can't speak for Jim....But I'm too old for all that rutting carry on...Though I have had my moments in the past.....

Yeah the stags can be downright dangerous during the rut but they tend to stay away from humans. You can usually hear them roaring at each other though, an eerie sound when its dark!

I nearly got killed by a big stag last winter...Came crashing out of the bushes at the side of the road!!

If I had not stopped to look at some hinds down in the campsite he would have been right over the top of me!!!

I think because of their proximity we tend to forget these are totally wild animals that are wandering about..Wouldn't want to get too near the pointy bits on a stag anytime never mind in the middle of a rut!!

I'm the same with coos...Ok if I'm one side of a fence..and their on the other...Especially if they have handle bars on!!!

We have roe deer in the woods at the back of my flat which come up onto the large expanse of grass to feed morning/night...On these dark nights you can see them passing you(Shadows in the houselights) as your out with the dogs..Scary stuff...though they keep well out of your way...

Last year...again at the Squirrel...I got some nice pics of a Roe Stag on the public footpath behind the Clachaig Chalets...here's all sorts of beasties wandering about up there...Jim has seen wildcats on the road back form the pub...

Will show you the pic's I took on my phone of the Stag wandering round the beer garden at the pub next time I see you....
