I remember a few years back we had a great ukcampsites `Meet Up` at Penkridge - Nr Wolverhampton. A brilliant weekend, but sadly I haven't seen any further local events advertised.

Im looking at going back to Anglesey in the next few weeks - dependant on weather and whether I can persuade any of my mates to join me.

# Pillaton - Penkridge - just remembered lol

Yes it would be nice to have a meet up, though I'm still in touch with, and still camp with, quite a few members I met on ukcs meets. They have become good friends of mine.

Bruce's cave was a great meet, Papa and I organised those rallies, always had great times there but health reasons stopped us from doing any more.

I attended a fabulous week-end meet at Cononley near Skipton a few years ago. I intend going back to that campsite having found a new campervan after 3 years back in a car. I missed the campervan so back on the trail again.

Oh Well, tried to stir some interest but didn't happen !! Meets on here used to be all the rage and I/we met some wonderful people over the years ! I think the problem is that there has been a lot of break off groups and dare I say it, cliques, doing there own thing in there own little groups. Never mind, I still enjoy Camping and taking my Grandaughters away and I will continue doing so for as long as I am able !

Hi Steve, I guess over the years people's circumstances have changed. We used to be in the "stay up until the sun rises again" group 😂 Now we have a young family of our own we are more the "go to bed as soon as it's dark" group 😀
We still keep in touch with a lot of our camping buddies from way back when who we wouldn't have met if it weren't for this site, we just have different camping needs these days. We like a site with a playground etc. whereas others just want peace & quiet!
How old are your grandchildren? Our boys are 7 & 9.

Hi Tara, yes I suppose you may be right. I still keep in touch with a lot of old camping buddies on Facebook etc. I just miss the Rallies/Meets as we had some memorable times !! My two Grandaughters are 9 and 10.
