Hi All,

I'm in a spot of BROWNHILLS bother. Last October I bought a fantastic motorhome from a completely crap dealer in Newark. It is a Eura Mobil and is just the most perfect family van. We have done 5000k miles in it all over Europe and couldn't be happier with it. The Shocking dealer in Newark however couldn't have been more of a pain in the behind if they had tried. I know, I know, everyone says don't buy from them unless you want bad service, but at least you get the price you want or can afford.

Now I have the problem that for some strange reason, when it went bust, the managment team thought that it would be a good idea to have an MBO and stop doing any warranty work on these units. Now I have a problem (only a little one mind) and I need it sorting, I can't find anywhere to go.

Does anyone have any good suggestions about where I might be able to find a dealer who cares about their customers enough and who is able to do warranty work on these fine units. I have looked on line and come up with one or two in the west country, but iIm in Nottinghamshire (part of the reason for buying in Newark) and can't really get all the way to Devon for the work to be done. Also Brownhills is the main search result which is slightly out of date now isn't it!!

Your knowledge and help would be great if possible. Thanks, Hertford_Campers

Hmmm, as I understood it the new Brownhills team are honouring the old warranties.  Do a google for some more specific motorhome forums as there is a lot of info out there about this.

Here's one such article confirming the above.  From what I can gather the motorhome dealerships are like the caravan ones, if you didn't buy from them they don't want to know about your van!  Johns Cross motorhomes seem to get brill reviews, maybe they can help you if it is a minor issue?

Here's their own Q and A on the subject confirming it too.

Hope that helps a bit.

I would email the factory in Germany or even phone them(they probabley speak English)& see what they have to say. I would guess they will want a distributor in the UK so may be appointing a new one.

Andy - M as far as I can see that isn't the case.  Both Brownhills Q and A section and various other websites report that they are honouring previous warranties.

It does seem as though their customer service has been terrible over the years from what I have read.

I have had first hand experience with after sales support from Brownhills, for a Hymer and also a Rapido. This time went for a Pilote from Hayes Leisure, there is no comparison.

I don't think I have ever read a positive customer service review for them lol!  Don't blame you for going elsewhere.

don amotts no longer deal with euramobil and neither do many others mainly because euramobil do not look after their uk dealers very well. we have had euramobils for a few years. you are best getting in touch with a lady called petra lang at euramobil in germany. she may be able to help you. we have just had a battle with them in the last few months and lost although we are not suprised as our van was out of warranty. we have just had £8500 worth of damp sorted on our A class. it was originally repaired under warranty by westcrofts who were bought out by brownhills prior to us purchasing the van. 4 years on and the van was riddled so the repair was rubbish anyway. we found a really good guy to fix it who has gave us a warranty with the work but he does not have anything to do with euramobil and is based in oxford

Don Amotts had only recently signed up as a Euromobil dealer, I am surprised they are no longer a dealer, they have enough of them on their forcourt and also in the stock area.

They are also still advertised on their WEB page, I think you will find they are still a dealer

according to the manager at the nec show they were becoming new dealers, that is where we spoke to euramobil direct and told them of our plight with the damp we had.....a month ago we phoned don amott and they have stopped dealing with them and are only selling what stock they have left and thats it and according to a friend who has worked as a salesman there for many many years they are having trouble selling them

I think in the current economic climate everyone is in the same boat, they have load of stock of various different brands.

We looked at them but they did not have the layout we wanted, sounds like a blessing in disguise

i agree we love the vans but sourcing parts is a big problem and euramobil are not very helpful. we waited over 4 months for a seitz sliding window from them. the outer plastic was hit by a golf ball and smashed. seitz windows are quite easy to come across in this country but for some reason euramobil ones have a grey edge as opposed to black and they were the only people who could get us one
