my 2007 ducato m/home is dues for a cambelt change later this year. i have been quoted £650 from my local garage including labour, parts, new water pump (recommended ?) and antifreeze- sounds a bit expensive?

I have also seen on the web that you can get cam belt insurance for £30 for 12 months and cover up to £2000 of repairs anyone heard of this?

Far to expensive for a cambelt change, perhaps it is London prices, then arrange to get it done away from where you live.. Think along the lines of £270-£310.

Unless you have a high milage then forget the waterpump ( I know when stripping down ect) . Your best option is to locate a mobile mechanic who is happy to do cambelts, but away from London again. A cambelt kit for a Boxer is £70 to give you a rough idea of costs and aprox 3 hours labour.

Save yourself money by shopping around. Good luck

The dealers are robbers. Get a mobile bloke in from recommendations. Im not sure £2000 will cover the damage a belt can cause if it goes, would it?
