Hi

Well, we have sold our static, and looking forward to going back on the road.

I have seen the Ducato auto roller 4 berth - year 1999, and thinking of going to view today or soon. Any owners of same, all comments will be welcomed. The price is around 13000.

thanks for looking

Chiltern Mills Chiltern Mills have been helping Caravan Owners and Motor Home Owners to make their stays as comfortable as possible for over 20 years. With the hotter summer weather, we know just how hot it can get and so we recommend a lower tog duvet so you are not waking up too hot in the middle of the night. British made, machine washable, non-allergenic and they comply with the Fire and Safety Regulations 1988 Chiltern Mills

Hi...

I think I'm correct in saying that Auto Roller are mid/budget range vans (?), so as such a 15 year old coach built needs a thorough checking over...

So as well as the usual used vehicle checks, take time to check for damp(maybe borrow or hire a good quality damp meter, as cheap ones can give iffy results) and on the habitation side, make sure everything works and on every power source(12v/gas/mains)...

Buyers should always check out the actual payload/axle ratings, as it's not unusual for coach-built MHs to be *over their GVW  limit, once loaded with holiday clobber.

(*..and even if they're below their GVW, their rear axles are sometimes overloaded).

The only correct way to check the above is to have the seller take it to a local weighbridge, so as to provide a ticket...but I can't see many sellers of a 13K van, being that accommodating!

(I weighed our last CB not long after we bought it..and in "going away mode" it was way over 3500kg!..luckily the previous owner had up-plated it to 3850kg ).

Many thanks for that Pepe63, will take what you advised on board. As you say, there is a lot to think about, but this is our first 'viewing' and will not rush into anything. We did have an old campervan some years back, and then went static, but miss the variety of locations !! Again many thanks
