Well there you go then, don't do Facebook. Do you ever hear anything of Jo? She did contact me briefly about three years ago but didn't give me her email addy and I don't have a current phone number for her.
Your Highlands trip sounds good. I went to the western highlands a couple of years ago, stayed at Arisaig on the coast, eight miles from Mallaig. The site is on the estuary of a small burn and right by the beach with views to die for. I did trips into Mallaig itself, Fort William and Fort Augustus, plus drives to various scenic places where I got some great photos, many of which ended up on my blog. I also stopped at the CCC site at Luss on my way up to the Highlands and again on the way back - a lovely site and village with fab views over Loch Lomond.
Your new puppy sounds adorable and the name is lovely - you'll have to post a pic of her sometime. I still have my dogs but with a couple of changes. You may remember I had the two JRTs Sophie and Sugar - last September Sugar became ill and was eventually diagnosed with kidney failure which couldn't be treated other than palliative care. Not wanting Sophie to be an only dog I searched round and finally found Poppie, another JRT of similar age to Sophie, and brought her home at the end of October. Sugar finally drifted away very peacefully here at home a week before last Christmas - she was sixteen and a half, I'd had her from the age of eight months and even though I knew it would happen I was still devastated.
Then in late June this year my ex, who I'd been friends again with for quite a while after his last relationship hit the rocks, died very suddenly after a heart attack - he was only 53 - leaving behind his dog Sam and Mog the cat. I took them both and they've been living quite happily with me since - and I don't think the change of home and ownership has been too bad for Sam as my ex and I were together when he first got Sam back in 2003. So two dogs became three, then back to two, now three again, and they all love camping, though Sam is 13 now and quite slow, so can't walk as far as the other two.
I've no camping plans for next year as yet other than the Elvaston steam rally near Derby next July - if you're free that first weekend why not go, it's a great weekend and lots of UKCS-ers go. I was actually hoping to be camping for Christmas and New Year this time but if the current wet weather continues I'll be going nowhere - and I'm determined I'm not going to my son's this time. That's my dil's fault, not his, but it's a long story
I have a very temperamental personality - 50% temper and 50% mental
