38 degrees are running a poll on this to see if they should campaign on it.

So it's all put on hold for at least 6 months!!!! More wonders from the health system. It wont be sold to insurance companies but read a report that suggests hackers could get into it in 2 hours!!!!! All very wonderful

Not everyone had received information, either not delivered or binned along with junk mail. Biggest one I think, GP's were not going to harvest data for the project.
Now they have to do it properly.

Insurance companies in theory could create there own database, using identiable information. It would not take long, all they will need is. Postcode, date of birth and gender. Insurance companies, then could refuse life insurance etc based on potential illness, tests and so on.

Confidentiality cannot be guaranteed, once data is out of GPs hands.. Different organisation s will have access to the data base. They may not be as stringent, more difficult to control. IMO it would be niave to put faith in such a system, until one fully knows, and understand the proper function. Without full proper facts, how can anyone make an fully informed decision, on something as important as this.

Nice to know that one of the companies charged with gathering and keeping the info is that kind, caring and empathetic ATOS. You know the one that thinks dying is a lame excuse for not going to work. Don't you just love outsourcing especially to foreign companies. But I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

Lol, Dr Hilary Jones, thinks it is a bad idea. It will not be useful, following trend illness an diseases in different area, they all ready no that. Records andcannot be kept confidential, the only people it will benefit is insurance companies, records will be sold, which they have already, peoples premiums will go up or will not be able to obtain insurance based on they may develop an illness based on family history.
