Me to...Old and decrepit now...But I was more into sports..fishing...and other outdoor pursuits than the clubs....when I was your age....

Not entirely sure...But I think there are a few youngsters in your age bracket on the forum...Weather they post regularly is another matter.....

Hi I'm twenty something, (only problem the something is 35) There was only one night club I felt a need to go to, Jillys Rock World in Manchester, As a youth, I spent my time riding and building motor bikes, building steam engines and going camping.
Now in middle age I spend my time building and riding motorbikes, building steam engines and caravanning

Dont get me wrong, i do like abit of clubbing, but i would much rather camp out with people, get the fire and bbq going, have a couple of bevvies and just chat

I race motocross every sunday without fail, its like my solution to everything

Just come back from malia for the week, but whilst i was out there i had a deep think about what i really want to do in my life and what i enjoy, turns out im just kind of following the crowd in terms of going clubbing etc, what i would really love is to meet some people who enjoy camping and sightseeing like me!! Never had a friend like that

One of the greatest pleasures in life is sitting out in the open air with a group of friends, drinking beer, and talking s**te.
I have spent many of these evenings at various race circuits, airfields and drag strips

I used to be 19. The inside of my head still is. The rest of my body still looks as though it is but on checking my birth certificate it tells me I am something over 60.

I occasionally went the equivalent of clubbing in the 60's Dan but in those days it was pretty much all live music with real bands. We also went camping during that period. Most holidays all over the south west and wild camping on the west county moors.

I have to say I see few people of your age on camp sites. I reckon those that are will be on the holiday park type of site.

That's not to say your mates wouldn't enjoy it if you arranged a weekend "taster" with them . Then you will have a problem finding a site willing to take you.

In your dreams Stuart.

I never really liked clubbing, preferred pubs and especially folk clubs when I was at college, more years ago than I care to remember. Liked camping once I escaped my parents' way of doing it. Now I like caravanning.

When I was 19 I loved camping, clubbing, traveling, folk/dance/rock... In fact I loved pretty much everything. Of course festivals were especially brilliant because I was with my mates, camping, drinking real ale and basically clubbing (just in a field). We would often go camping after a heavy weekend somewhere quite to recover. Whatever, just enjoy life and don't pigeon hole yourself :)

I'm at a festival next week as it goes, but there for business rather than pleasure.

I'll be 50 next year, and started camping when I was 41 and got hooked, currently making up on lost time and opportunities.

I would suggest looking at the various meets, or try to organise one yourself, to meet up with like minded, similar aged campers. The C&CC has a youth section. Might be interesting to contact them to see what they can come up with. Many children are taken on camping holidays for years by their parents, and end up 'going it alone' with their friends.

Welcome, and I hope you find some kindred spirits - on here or elsewhere. What you will certainly find on here is a wealth of information and advice about kit, campsites etc. Have a good browse, and enjoy!
I'm nowhere near 19, by the way. *sigh* 62, still solo camping, and will be as long as the creaky bones allow.
