Had the usual call from the microsoft team about the laptop on my virus. Coincidentally I had one too!!! All sorted though by my own fair hand.

I played with them and told them I was madam of an escort agency for gentlemen with an above average salary.

I now have Richard or Brian phoning asking me to provide girls for microsoft staff. Said I can't help as this agency is too busy and they could try our other branch. Am thinking of giving them the microsoft phone number, but then again they should know it already!!!

Tricky! Hard to report them when you claimed to be something you were not, but you could try saying your agency is under police investigation and if they don't want their number on the list they had better not call again.
Personally when these 'microsoft virus' people call we act concerned and say we'll go turn the computer on, then leave the phone for about 10 mins before coming back and just hanging up. They've not called back for quite a while!

try asking them to call you back on your home number and give them the number of your local police station as an alternative number to get you on because this number is to busy at the moment

Our Police number is 101, unless its an emergency.

Gone are the days when you phoned the local station. That's closed down here, we have a brand spanking new custody suite thingy to serve a wider area here now.

Tell them you've temporarily closed due to your staff having caught a virus and can they do anything about it.

Get yourself a premium rate number (you can get them for free, and take a percentage) then get them to call it and keep them on the line as long as you can. I have heard of a few people doing this.

Found a couple of ways to deal with them:

I answer in Welsh.

I introduce myself as Sergeant Davis.

I keep them talking for a while.

The first works very well!

I had fun with one.

Pretended to go along with his scam.

Along the way, I told him the screen had gone black!

Blue screen of death,

He wanted to know what programmes I was running, I told him all the names of DSs games

Then right at the end, clearly he couldn't gain access to the computer, so he asked exactly which version of windows I had.

Well, he told me my computer was in trouble, so he should know?

But he didn't, so in the end, after...30 mins I told him I had Linux

I also told him I didn't know they knew those words in Asia and I was very impressed with his grasp of English and Saxon expletives

Last time they called, I let DS talk to them. He is deeply into computers and the man on the other end ended up shouting at him that he lived in London!?.!?

They are a scam.   They make thousands of phomecalls as they will get people who respond.
Simply tell them that you don't have a computer.

They've not called for two days.

Funny thing is when I've had other scam calls I've said I've heard of this scam. three times now they have replied it's not that type of scam its another.

Don't you just love it.
