The subject matter goes in the what3words app, and more less is our caravan roof!!! Read about today thought it was marvellous, apparently very popular with gypsy and Mongolians with yurts. I still think Facebook is dangerously new to me so don,t know how popular this app will be, just thought it was very clever myself, chap across the way from me wished he had invested when it was on the ground flour, what ever that means. Anyway anyone still out and about and want to share where you are?

Mock ye not - get out a bit more and read up on 3 words..
This is a really ingenious mapping system...............

what3words is a really simple way to talk about location. We have divided the world into a grid of 3m x 3m squares and assigned each one a unique 3 word address. It means anyone can accurately find any location and share it more quickly, easily and with less ambiguity than any other system.

For example Demand.Forgets.Airbase will take you to Banff links caravan site.

Two drifters off to see the world.

2017 - June - Braemar & area.
July - Peak district with family.
Sept - European tour. Just go where the mood takes us.
Rest of year - no idea yet.

It's a mapping app. Basically they've divided the world into 3x3m squares and given each one a three word name. So you can give an 'address' for anywhere.

Then perhaps the OP could have explained that!
Or is being psychic a requirement now?

Clever! I've just looked up both our British and French addresses, and will learn their locations by heart. Anyone for tennis outbound knitting? But I wonder how long it will be before google recognises these strings, such as Coiling Proof Mistaken as a location in the real world.

Interesting our location has changed.............. initially it involved paprika, now it has included mushrooms on the 'menu'.

Maybe I'm being thick here but I don't get it at all. Why would I need 3 random words for a location when I already know what a place is called and is already on every map, including the 3 words map. Seems like they've solved a non existent problem.

It is just like a map reference. The problem with map references is that they don't cover the world. This one does.
I bet I could give you lots of places to find that you wouldn't be able to without some sort of reference. Of course, it is no use if you are offline. That is the Achilles heel.

Mmm maybe. I'm sure it has a use for finding these places, I guess it must be that I don't want to go to them.

When I 'google' my friend's address at Bwlchtocyn, near Abersoch it doesn't come up, nor does a SatNav find it. This App finds it and is spot on!!!. It would have helped yesterday morning when a new cooker was delivered, and they got completely lost, using a SatNav. We had to go out and find them and show them the way. But it will only be of actual use if SatNavs are linked to it because I can't see anywhere to 'get directions'.
