When I was a moderator on the"Simply DV" bulletin board, I and other moderators  used to edit titles on our travels... in my experience, a relevant title used to attract far more attention than a vague one, particularly as it was primarily a technical facility.

The moderators on this site will just love me now ! ! !

Webby, what I want you to do is stop these people using titles that promise a titilating or salacious thread, then talking about some boring thing that is only loosely connected to the title... I'm often very disappointed...

You did Sarah, but I'm still ticking so far! Now if you could direct me to "A Purveyor of Fine English Oxygen" it might be more useful!

I think this is annoying too, but if you hover over the title the first 2 lines of the post appear and that sometimes gives more idea what the poster is talking about without having to click on the post first.

when i first started on ukcs, i posted a few topics that a webmaster said that there was a topic already about what i was saying, fair enough, but i was new and didn't know this. i still donn't know how to find a previous topic without going to the bit were you click on the number ie 1 2 3 4 5 ..... how do you ' search ' for a previouse topic then? i tend to go into my profile and find it there, but that only shows the previouse ten or so! honestly, i'm not that dim, just newish to comps!
