Hi, I'm brand spanking new to this site and to camping. My only experience was 100 years ago when hubby, me and our boys spent a night in the Hockenheim woods when we went to see the Grand Prix. So fast forward about 20 years and hubby and I are footloose and fancy free. We started thinking about getting a campervan, but have whittled it down and down and are now thinking of using the car plus an awning. Bonkers? I do hope so

This is an ode to ukcs, a place to have some fun
With like minded people who camp come rain or sun
For help and advice this forum is nice
For support or a giggle and those things that niggle
You cannot go wrong to join in the throng
With threads on many topics to give you a taste
For there is no cure for the addiction you face
So come in and welcome, make yourself at home
I'm sure we will chat in the future to come

I have NEVER been lost, though I do admit to spending several hours locationally challenged

More tentage = Campus Sherpa 4 - reproofed and still going strong

In Memorandum = Vango Quest, Khyam Chatsworth, and a frame tent OH wouldn'try!!!!

Hi Folks

The names Alan, i'm 43, from Stafford, married with a wife, two lovely daughters and two horrible sons (people say they take after me.. which they probably do) i'm involved with security (site, door work and CP).

I'm ashamed to say i've been a member for a while i've just never really got around to posting anything, 'till now.

We have just brought a transcamper trailer tent, i've had trailers before because i grew up on the travelling fairs and since settling down and getting married (twice....what's that old saying about once bitten ) we've had a couple of trailers but this is our first trailer tent.

It's certainly been fun learning how to put it up but we're looking forward to our first "holiday in it"

That will be the next post i make...asking for some advice on somewhere to go!

Right, well, i think that just about covers it so i'll go and make my other post now!

Hi all,

Lurked for years, decided to sign up.

We started off in a Rapido Exportmatic (old folding camper, really cool though, check it out!)

Then we needed a house, so we fulltimed in a twin axle whilst we saved up a deposit. 13 months later we sold the caravan and moved into our first home together!

We now have an old tent that we use, but are looking at getting back into caravanning. First things first though... need to do our towing test!

Hi all.

Started as a kid, then got back into it with the arrival of my first trike going to rallies. Started with an Alpha 300 for myself which I still have.

Then got a SLEEPER pod to tow with trike, no pitching and good for wet weather as totally hassle free.

Then got a COmanche Montana trailer tent for using on weekends away with either the good lady (if we get a kids free weekend) or with my son. Great bit of kit and towable with trike as well as car.

For faraway trips (TT on ferry costs to much for a short trip) we bought a 2nd hand Gelert Stratus4. Great job with loads of room for 2.

I have added a few pics of the Stratus4 and the Montana.

I have also submitted reviews on them, and a few sites we have been to, so far none are available to see though so assume they have to be approved.

Great site with loads of info.

I have asked a few questions so hope I can get some info from all the experienced members online.

if your not living life on the edge your taking up tooo much room
