With winter fast approaching, we have teamed up with The Roofbox Co. to offer you the chance to win one of three pairs of AutoSocks, , worth from 49.95!

AutoSock car snow socks from The Roof Box Company give normal road tyres the grip they need on ice and snow to get you home. Don't get caught by the awful winter weather again. AutoSocks are textile wheel covers with an elasticated edge; you just slip them over the driving wheels when you find yourself getting stuck.

Max tow weight = Cars gross laden weight + Caravans gross laden weight.

These 2 figures must not exceed 3500kg. And the Caravans gross laden weight must not exceed the cars UNLADEN weight.

Unless the manufacturer has set a lower limit.

I was lucky enough to win a set of these on this site last year and I'm glad to say they have never been used so far. It may be a different story next week acording to the weather forecast but I still have the peace of mind if kicks off. If I never use them again this year either I will be well chuffed.

Just before Xmas, after the last snow we had up here, I replaced my old M&S rated tyres, which were getting near the limits, with a set of All weather (winter rated) M&S tyres.

It has not snowed here since BUT we have just had a Yellow Weather warning this morning that we will probably get snow today concentrated more here in Co Durham with up to 4" on the high ground.

Where I live is on a hill with 3 main roads into it and you have to go up a hill whichever road you take into it.

All season are, snow socks for snow only, once you reach the edge of a clear road you stop and remove them

I bought a set of "medium" sox which would fit most cars I'd hire for skiing. It's cheaper than a set of chains from the hire company for a week. Even if not an exact fit, you normally only need them on for a few kms or sometimes a few hundred metres till you reach black roads.
(They also fit my wife's car so an excellent buy for me.
