Can we use Bruces as a staging post as we head south into wild and wooly England?

I passed Bruces today as we came north with new puppy. He was not impressed with the campsite.

Then again he wasn't impressed with anything from Carlisle to Kilmarnock as he was sound asleep.

Hiya Als.

I think me and Joe are going to stay at Bruces 1st and 2nd August. It would be great if the meet was that weekend, it's been aaaaaaaaaages since we've seen ya!

I think we're going to try Scotland for our holiday this year, the euro and the dog have put me off France for this summer and the furthest North i've ever been is Bruces!!!
Joe's new job takes him all over the country and he's always going on about how beautiful Scotland is, so Scotland here we come!!!
The plan was to have the weekend at Bruces (room permitting) and then onwards and upwards.......

Any ideas or recommendations on sites would be great too.........quiet, near a beach with a toilet/shower block. That's all i want! Found a couple on the caravan club website that look quite nice, only about 2 hours on from Bruces so wouldn't be too much travelling in the the scorching sunshine.
The ones i've been looking at were New England Bay and Garlieston? Any comments??
Speak soon

Billie n Joe

Hi Billie, will let you know when the meet dates are, Joan and I may well be there as early as the last week in July, the caravan is already there waiting for us!

Got a bit busy and side tracked with the grand kids the last fortnight, will try and find the time to get things moving re the mmet next week in between runs to the hospital.

In case you had not seen it wee Helen had a boy last July 30th, Allan and Nikki had a wee girl on the 4th March and today at 9.08am Hazel gave birth to a little girl, ten weeks prem and weighing in at 3lb 7.5ozs. Baby will be in hospital until about 5 weeks old and as the hospital is a 35mile journey away it means that the boss and chief driver (not me anymore) will be running around like a headless chicken again.

will get piccies of Baby Robertson on the site soon, promise. Right now I am off to bed, been a very long day! (-;

Will be great to see you again either at Bruces or perhaps the national which we are hoping to get to this year!

Feel free to e-mail me with your holiday details for August! Great to here from you !

In Aug, we will be heading south to the Chester Area for a month or so to explore this area and just see if anyone actually lives there, or has perhaps inhabited it in the past???

Certainly as Bruces would be almost the last civilised frontier post before we venture across the Border and into the badlands of wild and wooly England, it would be worth our while to stay there a few days to recuperate and gain some extra strength for the trials and tribulations that will ne doubt befall us during our English Safari.

So we too would be interested in any dates as they become available.
