Thinking about getting one of these from Santa. Does it come with the connector bits? I was thinking if I get one for my Chriatmas then I can buy my OH one later on.

I don't know what they come with unfortunately. There are a couple of people on here that have bought them though, and have commented how comfortable they are. So good they both bought their OH's one too.

I'm sure one of them will be along at some point to give advice on the connector question.

Here is a link to one of their threads about it.

I would be one of those people yes they come with big elastic bits that you put round two of them to connect. Each mat comes with one so that you have two for two mats one for each end. I LOVE my megamat

Yep, have you considered the ThermaRest DreamTime XL not quite as thick as the MegaMat although length and width are the same, but does have the advantage of having a Fleece Cover with Foam insert, also the cover has a tough nylon base which gives a little extra protection to the embedded Matt.

I quite like the look of the MegaMat and from a quality of build is no doubt just the same as ThermaRest.

We have been using our 2 DreamTime XL's since 2008 and they have been brilliant for our fortnight campings in the South of France during July.

We don't use sleeping bags, just a plain cotton fitted bottom sheet and cotton top sheet.

Edit = just read that the DreamTime is no longer manufactured and seems to have been replaced by the NeoAir Dream, not quite the same as the old DreamTime, so the MegaMat seems now to have taken top slot for the most comfortable Matt available.

Seriously giving a pair of these some consideration, as a xmas prezzie to us both.
Are they suitable for a camp bed, in place of "normal" SIMs?
We have These camp beds. I guess I'll have to get one out and have a measure!

I'm concerned that they seem more "air bed mattress-like".   Will I effectively lose the full width of the mega mat by being rolled into the centre, due to the camp bed sag?

Any advice extremely welcome, including best place to buy from. In the meantime, I'll measure our camp bed and do a little more research.

Cheers
xxx

Hi mucker, I have the same camp bed and use the exped 10 cm comfort, because its 10 cm thick it fills the dip and is a lot easier to get off the beds as it makes it a flat surface, the mat is as wide as the bed, the mega mat is wider so I would think it would stick out over the sides.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Fiona,

I got exactly that impression when looking into it last night, and the 10cm comfort caught my eye. I'll just double check dims, but as you have the same bed, I can see an order for 2 of the comforts heading Santa's way! :-)

Cheers.

Mucker, I think having the Megamat on a campbed would be like gilding the lily - a waste of each's best quality.

The Comfort looks a great alternative - I almost bought one before the Megamats: and its a smidgeon cheaper.

Daisy that was a great price ... there's only 23 days left to wait to open it properly

Totally agree, Bridgers!

That's why I've just ordered 2 x SIM Comfort 10's... and a mini pump.

I've had them delivered straight to Santa, so it doesn't spoil our surprise!
