I bought one from lidl for 29.95 just to try it out. Then I discovered you need pans with iron or steel bases that a magnetic will stick to to make the induction thing work.
Eventually I bought some pans to try the thing out at home.

Well, it's absolutely brilliant! It's almost microwave speed of cooking but in a pan. It even makes the humming / buzzing sound of a microwave!

Heats very fast but super-controllable! I'm keeping this one in my kitchen now and going to get a 2nd one to take camping!

Absolutely recommend this contraption!

Coopers of Stortford do a metal disc that you place on the induction hob and you can use any normal pan on it.

I use one at home, outside too if the weathe is decent. Yes it is fast, stewed baked beens in seconds!
