I have planned to return in Sep 2014, however, it is subject to change, as I am unlikely to be camping on my own for the foreseeable future.

We're going there at Easter for the first time.. really can't wait, its because you guys all wax lyrical about the place that we thought we'd give it a try!

I'm sure this won't be the first of many visits :)

FF is one of those places I was speaking about the other day when I said I have always wanted to visit...But for one reason or another...Never have...

I remember a picture of FF posted by a member on here years ago....Bright sunny day....Tents dotted either side of a stream....And kids paddling/playing in said stream....(Not sure if the lake was even there at that time) That picture alone set my mind on FF...Unfortunately I get my FF Fix from subsequent Piccies like yours Tracy....It looks...And probably is a great place to stay....Because of distance involved I would need at least a fortnights holiday to make it worth my while....

Maybe one day!!!

Jelboy.

We are looking at going for a couple of nights quite soon. Can any 'old timers' tell me if the pubs within a walking distance do good food (lunches) and are they happy to accept well behaved dogs.

15 days and counting for us. First camping experience for us. Never been before and really looking forward to it. Spent many years saying it's not for me but now I'm hooked and I must say it is really addictive. Tried to pick the best campsite for our first visit and all the comments make me believe I have made the right decision. Thank you all for sharing your thoughts.

I'm really sorry to hear that Steve, I'm sure you will be missed by many. My best wishes to you both and hopefully we will meet one day at Fforest Fields, as we never quite seemed to manage it did we?

I understand that The Hundred House, about a mile away, does food and is dog friendly. We've not used it so that is just the word of others. I would however recommend The Llanerch in Llandrindod Wells, lovely food and very dog friendly, we always visit at least once during our stay. It's a nice ride 'over the hills' and close to the Tesco so you can kill two birds with one stone 17

Nice to see that there are lots of new visitors trying FfF for the first time this  year, I'm sure you will find it all we have told you it is!
