Rule No 1... if it suits YOU and it's not actually "offensive", then go for it.
Mis-matching tent/canopy? Fine.
No ground sheet in canopy? Fine.
Tarp & poles instead of a "proper" canopy? GREAT!!
Door facing the site, for a good old nosey, or door facing the hedge for "more privacy"? Whatever suits you.
Small windbreak to protect the cooker? Or 40m of it surrounding your pitch? Again, whatever suits you. Personally, in an ideal world, we prefer to put another fleece and a hat on, and leave the windbreaks in the car!
Padlocks on the tent zip when you go out for the day? I'd say waste of time, but if it makes YOU feel better, then not a problem.
There's enough rules and regulations as it is, without coming up with our own, just "for appearances sake".
Just not green and blue together... that's a step too far!!
