Hi,

I wonder if any would be able to give me any advice, as in most caravans mine has 3 windows at the front, the middle one has started to delaminate. I have sourced a company in Halifax that will rebond it. The question is; how is it to do ones self and how do I remove the window, I have will have to do this whether or not I glue it myself?

Oh....my caravan is a Sterling Eccless Elite and is 12 years old !!

Thanks.

You can fix it yourself in about 10mins. Clear glue, Bostick, is ok. Open window right up, run a line of glue between halves. Hold together with bulldog clips until dry. If its come apart at the top & you can't get bulldog clips in, use plastic tape to hold it while it dries.

The windows just hang on the rail.Take off the end caps and there should be a stopper, these "stop" the windows from sliding into each other remove them.Lift the first one right open as far as it will go then slide along to the end of the rail.Mind take off the arms that keep it open.

we have just came home from our easter holidays with the same problem.  phoned the dealers & they said they have previpusly tried to rebond the windows but it has never worked. £££££ for a new one..... but hubby has taken the window out & put a line of extra strong superglue on both parts of the window & we took a side each to push it together.

fingers crossed that it has worked.... window is back in & so far so good.

My Burstner caravan windows were the subject of a recall by Polyplastic .They allegedly fixed the problem with screwing the 2 pieces together however the windows still delaminated.

I contacted a coy, Bondrite Adhesives Ltd whop have supplied me with an adhesive manufactured for bonding caravan windows .The product is called S1220.

I have bonded one window today at a cost of approx 13£ and will wait the result.
