Hi all I am sure there is someone there that can help a couple of novices please. Just purchased a 1999-2000 compass encore 500/4 caravan. Delighted with it however was going through it today, tried to get water to come out of taps and nothing, I can hear pump working o it's not that, however after closer inspection of the water heater relized that the tank as such has come off exposing the element, so I am here with drum in one hand looking at the element of which was working as when we put power to the van we smelt burning turned it off straight away, not sure what to do now..do we need a new heater or can the drum be resealed? Also would this be the reason we have no cold water as well or is that a separate feed. Complete novices as I said, hope someone here can help. Thanks in advance Emma

Better start with the good news and that's yes it can be repaired, not sure what I'd be saying to the seller though?!

The problem is actually quite common, solution is to take it out and send it to me for repair, or perhaps there is someone local? I know good guys all over the country if your stuck?
