Hi , I have a 2004 Elddis Avante 534 , and recently I have been presented with a tiny puddle of wter on the table at the front of the van , its not a big puddle and it takes days for it to appear , however I cannot see where this water has come from , its not from the roof because there is no joint or such in the roof , its one complete sheet of metal out side and ply inside , I cant see that its from the window because it appears on the edge of the table (the edge furthest from the window , It appears to be coming from above because Ive put a bowl where the water was , and a morsel of water has appeared in the bowl , so I would rule out any water being blown in through the windows ?? both myself ND MY WIFE HAVE RUN OUR HANDS ALL OVER THE ROOF , AND WINDOWS AND all seams to be dry , its a mystery , any suggestions ? its not a major worry because the amount of water in very minimal and if I wipe it up it can take over a week to get another drop in place.

The roof maybe one piece. But the anwing rails and sidewalls are not. Silicone sealant is the only thing keeping the water out.

Over time the silicone hardens and the seal starts to fail.

Same with the window surrounds.

The amount of water maybe minimal inside the van. But its getting between the inner and outer walls and rotting the wood behind and the wall panels.

You need to get it sorted quickly. Checkout the horror pictures in the repairs section.

What may appear to be a small patch of damp can soon extend along the entire side.

Post 1997 licence holder?

Max tow weight = Cars gross laden weight + Caravans gross laden weight.

These 2 figures must not exceed 3500kg. And the Caravans gross laden weight must not exceed the cars UNLADEN weight.

Unless the manufacturer has set a lower limit.

Do you have a cover on the van as this sometimes can cause condensation to drip from the ceiling,

The water might be coming from a skylight ? only way to test is either with a hose or watering can with some one inside the van.Use plenty water to let the leak appear.

Our avante 524 had water coming though the front window strip. The metal strip has about 10 screws in it. The sealant had dried out and let water in though the screw holes. When looking at the front of your van it's the metal track the front windows hang from. The windows lift out the track then you can unscrew and reseal.
