Hi all, I have fleetwood countryside manufactured1999. After picking it up from storage we found that handbrake was not catching on rachet. Have taken it in for a couple of repairs to be done. Big question. Any idea where I can get a replacement handbrake.

Chassis should be either Al-Ko or BPW & handle should be available no probs from any parts supplier. You can probably order from your local caravan shop. Take note of any serial number on front of chassis. This but ensure you get correct type.

You can still get chassis parts for both makes going back to the 80s. The designs don't change that much.

http://www.bpw.co.uk/contact. Contacted BPW with number from registration plate on A frame. They gave me part number for hand-brake assembly, and tel number for sales company as they dont sell direct to public. Phoned them up, they only sell to trade. Have ordered via local trader. Lets wait and see what turns up. Thanks again everyone.

Some useful info there, as our handbrake is a bit "iffy". Sometimes it will catch, and sometimes it won't.

Only problem is that I can't find any numbers on our 1988 Elddis Tornado. Plate probably fell off years ago!

Halfords? I didn't realise they did anything like this. Oh well, worth a try, thanks.
