Hi Everyone,

Its been a while since I've been on here and there are lots of new names around!

I was just wondering if anyone has ordered a tent from Obelink and can remember roughly what the shipping costs are from the Netherlands to the UK, as we are seriously considering the Hypercamp Palamos 6.

Back in late Sep 11 when I ordered my Escala 4 and a poly cotton tarp, it cost me 23.87 EUR for combined shipment to the UK, as shown on my invoice.

You can ask them for a shipping cost quote/estimation before placing the order, like I did back them, and the quote was 27.87 EUR, which was 4 EUR more than the actual shipping cost.

When the box containing the poles failed to turn up, they shipped it to me free of charge.

You will love the Palamos 6, excellent choice.

However, I am a tad bias, of course.

Thank you DK.

The charges are extrememly reasonable!

We have pretty much decided that the Palamos 6 is the going to be the one, and I can't wait!

It will probably be a few months before we actually get it

My other half moves very slowly. It has taken me about 4 years to get him to agree in principle to a pyramid (about the same time it took for me to move him from outright opposition to actually wanting a canvas frame tent, so we have a track record here to refer to).

But I am going to start getting accessories, as it will entail a big change in our style of camping, so we need to be prepared.

Solar powered fairy lights are top of my birthday list!

I know what you mean Angela,my hubby wasn,t convinced at
first
we went from very large family tents with every gadget you
could imagine,we have seriously downsized our kit and camping is fun again!

We love the space in the Palamos (just the two of us and a large dog),but the best part is we can have so many different set ups depending on how we feel. It's now OH's favourite tent.

Hope you don't have to wait too long 'cos I know it's really exciting and I hate waiting lol

I recommend the Solar Centre's multi-coloured fairy lights, as they charge up better in dull days than the cheapo set I got for half the price.

In addition, it has multiple modes, unlike the cheapo set which has only on, off, and blink.

Not sure if we should have a separate thread, as there is one for Dutch Pyramids already.

It is the flexibility of it that really appeals to me ( well apart from the stunning beauty of pyramids) as we are getting to the stage where we might be able to have occasional trips for just the two of us and that will be so much nicer in a beautiful tent rather than a functional one!

I am very happy with mine as one can tell , and have ditched the idea of getting a better make pyramid tent in a couple of year's time.

I shall concentrate on saving up towards a new car and then a trailer tent instead.

Ooo, I forgot to recommend getting the poly cotton tarp from Obelink at the same time, as it is massive for 55 EUR!

Excellent news, Janet!

It means cosier nights with an inner tent, which is very handy with the current unseasonally low temperatures!

I had warmer temperatures over Christmas last year!

I am sure Angela can sneak in the tarp without her hubby noticing, women are very good at doing that, speaking from personal experiences, of course!
