Stunning photo, and a very useful link.  Getting up to see the lights is on our "bucket list", so I have saved it in my favourites - cheers!!

A colleague wants to see the AB. He is considering going to Iceland. I told him to go to the North of Scotland. That is where I've seen it. Ill give him your link.

Are the "light" as visually stunning to the human eye as a camera picture?

it was seen as low as south wales last night.

another storm is due . if you see it approx 24 to 40 hours later it will hit the atmosphere and give us a stunning light show while 2 meteor showers are running

Wow, I'd love to see this. I had heard of people seeing them in Scotland but didn't know how clear it was. Is there a specific time of year, weather condition that makes them more likely?

idealy after a good solar storm. the links above will give you a guide

i live in warrington and have got pictures of it from Llaneilian on angelsey place in yorkshire.

when the Kp is above 4 you can see it in the border regions

if its above 4/5 lancashire and angelsey are on

need a clear sky and a darker sky than the local beech.

the other night was a event that happens maybe twice a year a major solar flair.

was quite high this weekend but alas the saturday night was all we had with clear skies in galloway, then the car died half way back to the site so a 9 miles walk with about 60 pound of kit each to get back to the site followed by a 350 quid bill monday for recovery and to get it fixed.

but was still worth it
