Recently started doing a bit of beach fishing in kent and east sussex. Hastings was a disaster and caught nothing. Dungeness was marginally more productive, caught a few mackerel. And trying Rye Harbour next week. Any other spots in the area that are worth a try?

I always have mixed results in Rye Bay. I frequently fish at Pett Level, Winchelsea Beach and Jury's Gap. I tend to fish from about 3hrs before high tide and for an hour after. With eels being mainly caught post high tide.
How did you get on at Rye Harbour?

Tried Rye harbour twice since I posted, caught nothing the first time and caught a cold the second. I've been fishing around 1.5 hours before high tide though so I may try and get there earlier and see what luck I have.
I don't think the weather conditions have been particularly good recently, very choppy seas even in the shelter of the harbour, so I may wait patiently for better weather.

A lot of fresh water from the River Rother doesn't help either.
