Does anyone have any recommendations for an outdoorsy family (12 year old son) in the Newquay area, or in the rest of Cornwall for that matter?
We go geocaching, and are happy to walk for several miles as long as there's a good tea shop somewhere along the way. We're keen surfers so will spend a lot of time in the sea, but I'm really looking for suggestions of other things to do both outdoors and indoors.
Your help would be much appreciated!

We've just come back from the area and had loads of free / cheap entertainment. A National Trust membership is always handy but nevertheless we had lots of fun. My kids are a bit younger than yours (10 and 7) but we went to Healey's Cyder Farm where you get free tastings (inc. non alcoholic drinks) they have farm animals and a tea shop and you can wander around for free without paying for their extortionate tours. Also Holywell Bay at low tide makes for a lovely walk along the shore with a shipwreck from 1917 to explore and the cave with a holy well. Perranporth is beautiful and has masses of sand dunes to explore, Chapel Rock to climb and cliffs with a giant sundial on top. We also explored St. Ives, St. Michael's Mount, St. Agnes and Trevaunance Cove which all provide a good bit of entertainment for the cost of car parking.
