Hi, I will be in the Starcross region (Cofton) in a couple of weeks and will be wanting to ride this trail into Exeter - I've ridden other sections before but not done a straight run into the city. I see from local news items that work is underway on the final section of the trail between Powderham and the Turf Hotel and locks. This work is stated to be complete by Autumn. Can anybody with local knowledge say if it is possible to cycle this section now, or due to the building work do I have to bypass it?

To answer my own question: yes. Cycled from Cofton to Exeter today on the trail. Work is well underway on the remaining section but this does not affect the footpath which is what people currently cycle on (very rough going however). Luckily I met some Sustrans people today who were raising awareness of their organisation. They told me work on the last section should be complete by mid October. This trail is excellent and Exeter has well signed cycle routes; a credit to all involved.
