We are planning a stop over at Versailles in our VW Bay Campervan 1971 I think we are not allowed to go through Paris not that we would but the ring road around Paris has a height restriction could anyone advise a route from Calais ( EuroTunnel) to Versailles for us, the camper van can just about clear 2 metres without me having a nervous breakdown. Any help in appreciated.

If you are paying the toll from Calais A26 then A1 then as you get to edge of Paris you pass under Charles DeGaulle airport. Look out for signs A10 Bordeaux. Follow these signs. Takes you around A86 middle ring road south of city centre so no tunnels up to A10 that I do know. Carry on along ring rd past A10 & see signs for Verasailles. Don't worry about low emission zone thats only in city centre within inner ring road.

Toll Calais Paris is expensive though & more so if sensor reads you as over 2mtres which it might if you are on the limit. Look on the map you can do it non toll on the old route following the route of A26 & A1.

Or.....
Take the coast road to Rouen (much prettier, and less busy than A1), then A13-> Paris off at J6, takes you nearly to the door. Adds about 30mins to the time.

Thanks for the advise, the coast road seems to be the better option and we don't have a time limit so the prettier route would be nice. Thanks very much.
