Have just come back from Butlins Minehead in our tent and can recommend the campsite there it is quite small 50 or 60 pitches and the showers and toilet block though looks like a log cabin is spotless the lady that looks after the touring park is really helpfull and friendly it is right at the back of the camp past the staff quarters so it is quiet apart from the cockrel that lives in the next field

We went over five years ago and those chalets really needed pulling down.

I've just looked up camping at Butlins and according to the page at the link below there isn't any camping:

http://www.butlinsonline.co.uk/index.cfm?channel=3009

Do you know where the information is kept as I'm interested.

Butlins Minehead is the only one that has a touring park, I think that this is the 1st year that they have allowed camping, it just used to be for tourers only, it is hard to find the info on the website, but in the search on the homepage type "touring" it will then give you the link to the touring site, the price is also shown 29 per night family of 4 inc EHU out of sch hols and 59 during hols, it does get cheaper if you stay a weekI think its good value,  we have stayed at the site and found it to be fine. In fact we are hoping to go in Oct for a weekend, as they have sent me a 25% discount of my next holiday, the letter also said that if I recommend a friend they would also get a discount, maybe 10% + some vouchers, ill have to find the letter.

When we were there we spoke to the lady that runs the touring park and she said that tents have been allowed there for years there werent many but they definately atake tents its 29 a night 59 for three or 49 for 4 but on 21st July it goes right up to 59 a night if you  type in touring minehead in the box in the right hand corner it will take you to minehead caravan then click on that and you will get an idea of the prices
