I was looking on the advanced search and I see it's now just there you don't even have to search for it! I noticed Noongallas in Penzance lets you have open fires etc.

Looking to go camping in the Keswick area in august but wanting to have a camp fire (what’s a camping holiday without a fire lol)
I have previously stayed on the Stonethwaite Campsite Borrowdale we had a camp fire but had to lift it off the ground the man told us
If anyone knows of a place I would be truly grateful if you can share your secret
thanks
Jonathan

Not quite Keswick, but have you tried Fisherground at Eskdale? A fabulous site and very popular. I know a lot of local people camp there regularly and if the locals think it`s a great site that should tell you something!

Hi
We're off to Faringdon near Swindon next weekend to a site we havent tried before - small site, allows camp fires but cheap and basic by the sounds of it. Will post details if any good!!

Westermill Farm Exford (Exmoor) is great. been there 3 times over the past 2 years (May and August Bank Holidays).
Just about to try another couple Cloud Farm and/or Oaremead Farm. Will report back next week.
I think the forecast is for hail sleet snow and plague...better take a brolly then!
Cheers

Hi have today returned from Doone Valley Campsite where you can have camp fires and everyone had one in the evening. It is a lovely quiet campsite, quite small but wasn't crowded at all. Has a stream running down one side of the site too, which we found excellent to keep our milk and vino cold !! You can buy bags of logs from the owner at £4.50. Bit pricey but couldn't get any anywhere else but you are allowed to collect dead wood from the woods which we did to boost our supply. Basic facilities (no electric hook up I was aware of) but didn't have to queue for toilet or shower once.
Site is between Porlock and Lynton/Lynmouth.

Hi crafty clare
what did you think of doone valley overall for family with 3 kids - like rural campsites that kids can get muddy nd explore...there are probably reviews somewhere, did they match what you found...amd drawn to this one because of "Lorna Doone" which I loved as a kid and the bonus of campfires....
