hi geoffprinter, yes very pleased with the tent, apart from the minor hiccup of the pump being broke when we arrived. thought for a moment we were going to have to spend first night in the car,(much to my daughters disgust). moral of the story always carry a spare pump. fortunately thanks to another camper lending us their pump the problem was resolved.will get round to doing full review of the tent when have more time.

Your the second person posting on here about broken pump. The joy family had the pump break on their Kampa Air. So that's 2 different makes, same problem.

yeah on closer inspection of the pump, where the handle attaches to the shaft of the pump it looks like instead of it being attached by a good weld there was only two little bits of plastic weld holding it together. pretty shoddy workmanship from vango for a 1000 tent. I think that vango should look into providing a better and stronger pump for their inflatable tents

hi dawn, first time we have used it bought it from go outdoors they told us what connections we would need not sure if you are using canisters that it is the same cadak as ours, I think the one that people were buying from Tesco is the one that you can screw gas canisters too, ours is the cadak safari chef. hope this helps.

Lovely pics, thanks for sharing!

I would advise writing to Vango about the pump though, as it sounded like it could either be a design flaw or manufacturing defect.

As for the Cadac Safari Chef, there are two versions, the LP and the HP.

HP as in high pressure uses pressurised butane/propane mix gas canisters, the LP hooks up to a gas bottle via a regulator and hose and operates at a lower pressure.

As far as I am aware, one cannot cover a HP to a LP in this country, even though Cadac makes such a convertor, as can be seen on their corporate website. I wrote to them a while back and they wrote back and said this kit is not available in the UK. I believe it may have something to do with safety concerns.

I vaguely remember reading threads on UKCS on how to convert the LP version to run off butane canisters that fit into suitcase stove, and would advise running a search for such threads.
