Well we got back on Friday after nearly 2 weeks away in the Eden
Weather was glorious a few drops of rain some nights then a massive downpour one night which resulted in the road flooding but luckily no water in the tent
The Eden was superb for our longest stay in it. The one big bedroom layout really helped and the living space was plenty big enough we were quite worried about living in it for 2 weeks having only done weekends in the Eden and the last long stay was in our old Vermont xlp
Anyway a couple of pics
Firstly the Eden basking in 28 degree sunshine

View from the beach bar

View from the seahorse restaurant just before we left on Friday as everyone was gearing up for Bertha

All in all a great two weeks
The site does get rather busy but with pitch sizes averaging 14mtrs x 14mtrs you still have plenty of space between units
My only bug bear is that you need windbreaks just to stop folk walking right through your pitch
Before we put ours up we had people virtually tripping over the guy lines there is just no need to walk so close to your tent then we had kids ducking under the tension straps
Don't even know where they were from as our neighbours didn't have kids
Also had a lot of interest in the Eden and met another Eden owner who was having a nightmare with his tent but will start a different thread on this subject

That is a busy site. Mind you with a location like that it's no surprise. Glad you had a good time.

Thrilled you had a great time, of course... but...

Even before reading your last paragraph, and going on photo's alone, I cringed at how busy it looked!

Looks like Windbreak City!! (And now know why, having read your post to the end! :-(

You may have nice wide pitches, and plenty of room between you and next door... but no way are you 6m from the unit behind!!

From both photo's and words, I'd have to say this is the sort of site we try to avoid... not meaning to take anything away from your wonderful holiday, of course.
What really matters is how much YOU enjoyed it, and on that score, it seems to have been a success.

Still think that's a lovely looking tent too. Admired at NEC, and it's still the best looker, in my view.

To be honest mucker we wouldn't and don't normally go for this type of site either but it's the draw of the beach and if you want to you can park the car up and leave it parked for the entire trip
The units behind were a little closer than 6m away I'd say more like 3-4 metres away but I think that's down to people not pitching in the way the park suggests

Must admit, P&K, we're of to a "Holiday Park" next month... 199 pitches, (The biggest we've been to!) pool with water slides, on-site shop & restaurant (well, at least in peak season).
IF it hadn't have been France, and IF it hadn't have been September, I'm certain we would have given it a wide berth!

For much the same reason as you, we concentrated on the area/location, first and foremost... flat safe cycling, sea side in easy reach (20mins by car, an hour on bikes), "Green Venice" just an hours drive away, village and supermarket 5 min drive away.

From what we experienced same time last year in La Dordogne (all positive), we're prepared to risk it, and are expecting (hoping) the site to be around 40% to 70% full, at worst.

Either way, if we come back as happy as you pair seem to be, then I'll be delighted... and a little relieved, it has to be said!

(I know we can up sticks and move on, if it's dire, but that really would be a last resort!)

Really pleased you had a great time and some great pics. But as others have said it looks mighty crammed there. Then again it is the height of summer. Geoff

Well i'm not surprised it gets crammed - looks beautiful!

Glad you had a great time, and i love your tent! We have 2 Vangos and an airbeam is on our wishlist next time we go tent shopping.

The kind of site i would avoid too, but hey, be boring if everyone liked the same kinda thing......

Thanks for sharing :)

Started to look at vw campers but it's passed now and are keeping the Eden the only downside to the Eden is the sloping front and not having zippy curtains on the vista front where it slopes other than that it's superb
But will be having a good look around this new polycotton version of the inspire at the nec in February
