On Monday evening after a very long journey home (M25 Traffic ) we returned from an amazing 9 days at Ninham in the Isle of White.

The site was great and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the island. We managed 7 days of great weather and thanks to tips from other members on here we had some great days out at beaches and other attractions around the island.

The weather was great for the first 7 days (except the one night we had a little rain) however Sunday morning the weather had turned with heavy rain and winds. We were very fortunate to have a great pitch with a thick high hedge behind us blocking the brunt of the wind and our tent did not budge one bit, the tarp and wind break however did end up coming down. One family in the field behind had a tree fall on their car due to the wind so we were very lucky with our pitch.

This was our first trip longer than 3 nights with our tent so it ended up being a bit of a test for our improved setup but everything performed great with the exception of rain collecting on the tarp one night when I woke up for a call of nature, fortunately I was able to drop the front poles down to allow the rain to drain off and continued to do this every night for the rest of our stay just to be safe. I have now planned out how to improve the trap extension for the future.

We woke up at 5:30 to very heavy rain on the Monday we were to return however this had eased by the time we were up and stopped by the time we were packing up, unfortunately the tent did end up going away a little wet however this has now been dried out ready for our next trip for the August bank holiday weekend.

Here are a few pictures as everyone loves pictures
