When searching for a site and click a few preferred selections tent / playground etc

Why does some of the sites come up green and some red

great question I've often wondered that - and what makes a site a featured site with a red star?

I found confusing because i thought green ones had all of my preferences and the red ones where sites in the area but they didnt match my selections.
