So you want to put a picture into a post!

There are a few ways to do this and the easiest is to copy and paste the picture into the Post reply box, assuming that the picture is already on the internet somewhere!

The second method is to use the Add Imageicon above the message reply box in Internet Explorer or the  image in Firefox.

When you click on the icon it will open a new window which looks like the one below.

If you know the web address of the picture insert it into the window in the box at the bottom.

Click on OK and the picture will appear in your post.

If the picture is on your hard disk. You will need to upload it to the internet before it can be put into a post.

There are a few sites that will allow you to store pictures on-line, most of the folks I know who do not use their own web space use http://www.photobucket.com/ which is very easy to use,  from registration to first upload took me around 4 minutes. When you look through the pictures you have uploaded you will see that there are 3 boxes below the pictures which contain different forms of code. These are the codes you will need to place the pictures in either a post, your signature, or as an avatar.

Practice on these pages to perfect putting photos or clipart into your posts.

(The contents of this topic will be emptied from time to time to save on disc space.)

An alternative method and perhaps easier one is left click on the thumbnail in Photobucket to open the picture, right click on the picture and select copy, then paste it into the reply box using the Paste button.  If the picture is bigger than the reply box then left click on it and drag one corner in until it fits. Best size for a picture in a post is around 500pixels wide, this will stop the pages from expanding out of shape with the rest of the site.

Download a full copy of this instruction in PDF Format.

This is from the Kodak website so should be specific to thier program.

Question:

How do I resize a picture?
<<Prev   Next>>
Answer: Answer last updated:05-09-06
To resize a picture, do the following:

  1. Right-click the picture, and select Save As.
  2. From the Resize picture drop-down menu, select a size.
  3. In the Filename text box, type a new filename. If you do not rename the picture, the original is overwritten.
  4. Click Save.

If you are still finding it difficult then e-mail the picture to me (address in signature*)and i will resize if for you and send it back, don't send too many for me to do though, if its for your profile then 3 will do!

*(To e-mail a picture fill in the usual e-mail sections and when you are ready to add the picture click on the attach files link and follow the instructions.)

Hi Romaway, when putting a picture into the text box you do not use the [img][/img] code. The easiest way is to open the Add Image(insert picture icon) and copy and paste the code into the box that opens, in the case of the image above the code would be - http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k257/romaway/th_mothersdayflowers22.jpg - this will give you the picture that you have on your photobucket site.

An easier way to do the same trick is to right click your mouse button when hovering over the picture and select copy, go to the message box and press paste or click on the  Paste button, this will insert the picture in the same way.
Hopefully that will help you get started on the pictures.
As you will have noticed that when putting the picture in as your dignature then the coding is needed for that.

I will check back later and see how you get on.

Hi Mickey try using the url link below one of your pictures, the link you used above is for the album page on your account.

Using the url in the Picture link box Add Imageshould sort it.

This is one of yours,

Hope that helps, BTW if you resize the pictures to 640 pixels wide or lower, they will fit the ukcampsite pages better.

Great solution to the steep drive problem!!! [:o)]
