I think you will find, if you look at your card, that it will have a number on the back. These cards are not created like a credit type card with the ability to replicate or renew your details. They come in a batch and the top card from that batch gets swiped when your details are put into the system and simply registers that card number to your details and so cannot be replicated as the information is not on the card just a number. As you renewed your old card the number will remain the same, if the card was damaged before you did this it would have been better to re register at that point and get a new card.
The answer is to not use your card when you visit a go store just give the person on the counter your post code and house number and they can track it just as quickly as swiping your card.
As for registering twice I think you will find that the system will throw back a second registration as the name and address already exists on the system. However, I think the person your dealt with could have handled things a bit better or perhaps they are not told why themselves.

Ive never had emails or mags off them either - feel like Im missing out now!
We went to Pudsey one last weekend, spent quite a bit as I needed new waterproof and fleece and there's always bits n pieces you pick up isnt there! Anyway, I also bought the picnic basket (lime green, £8.99 lol) and as I was paying at the checkout, using my card so turned slightly away, the assistant packed all stuff into a large bag. Very nice, thank you. got home - and no picnic basket!! Aaarghhh. Phoned the store next morning, yes it was at the checkout. Can they post it? No, they dont do that. But it was their fault? No, its up to me to check through the bag (ie unpack everything again ) before I leave the store. So, now faced with a two hour round trip this weekend to collect it. OH hasnt worked out yet that it will probably cost £8.99 in petrol to collect it, only a matter of time til he does

Think I'd just tell them to refund the £8.99 and buy elsewhere, rather than do a two hour round trip!

What is it about Go Outdoors, why do people feel the need to complain about them on a weekly basis on here.
First off you dont have to pay the £4 for the discount card, you can shop there all you want but at the normal prices.
Secondly, how many of you have a loyalty card for a supermarket ? Ok you dont pay for it directly but I bet they make more than £4 out of each of you over the coarse of a year for being loyal and then they give you back a miniscule amount in relation to your total spend over that year.
Now if they offered the same as Go Outdoors and charged you £4 for their loyalty/discount card which gave you your weekly shopping at discounted prices AND offered to match any other supermarkets price AND gave you a further 10% off your shopping how many of you would not be willing to pay £4 for that ?
Its quiet simple ... If you dont like it dont go there and save your £4 for a rainy day.

I do not like go outdoors, and absolutely hate the idea of a members card and would never pay £4.00 for one
I tend to use mail order mainly due to location and go are one of the worst online retailers I have ever come across, the number of times I have had an item cancelled from my order due to inaccurate stock levels and a part order sent making postage very expensive
Also like Val I don’t like the store only offers that you have because our nearest store is 90 miles away, and the web only offers are never as good as the in store offers
Sorry go out doors until you get your act together I will continue to shop elsewhere
