Just seen this three way mains unit on Towsure for 29.50 a bargain if you ask me and I doubt you will find one cheaper. Click on the link.......

I had one of those, was a great bargain when I got mine a few years ago, only problem was if the plug was a molded one, you couldn't plug anything under it so sold on and got a better unit.

That is a good price. I did get one cheaper recently from Halfords but that was only because there had been some problems and the manager gave me a goodwill discount - lol.

I have never had a problem getting 3 plugs into the sockets at the same time...just bend the wires slightly to the side, although I understand if you are using large phone chargers or similar sized plugs they can be troublesome.

It can sometimes be a problem finding somewhere safe in the tent to position them. They do come with 'C' clips for attaching to a pole or table leg providing the pole or table leg is the right size. I tend to lay mine flat on a small table which isn't ideal but does the job.

Mine is a 16 amp which is great for campsites supplying 16 amps as there is less worry about tripping the fuses. Some of them are only 10 amp.

I run an extension off one of the sockets so that it is easier to plug and unplug from that rather than disturbing the main unit. The other two sockets I use for things that need to be left plugged in like the fridge or lighting etc.

Good find! If you have a Go Outdoors card, request a price match and you could get it for 26.55 (10% price match = -2.95).

The price should be considered on a 'stand alone' basis based on the quality of the product & this could only be ascertained by the dismantling & examination of the product by somebody who knows about such things.

Whether its a 'bargain' or not should be based on that, not the other prices indicated on the advertising blurb which are as meaningless as they are misleading.

If you click on the link, you will see that it complies with British Standards.
Thanks to mphigham for sharing a useful item at a good price.
Are you sure the other prices on the "blurb" are meaningless? If they are correct then they are not misleading in my opinion. Maybe you can have someone who knows about such things dismantle one and enlighten us all?

Dance before the storm and don't look back to where you've been.

If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, you obviously haven't grasped the gravity of the situation.

I don't want it I just need it.

It is the SRP/MSRP frequently used when selling tents & other camping equipment that are meaningless when product is never sold at that price & never intended to be sold at that price, the actual selling price is fairly average for the product.

I can remember Argos trying to sell these at 99 a couple of years ago. I wouldn't know if they ever succeeded in selling any...I hope not!

I agree with Jack+John, they don't specify whether or not it has RCD protection, from the picture it appears to have one, they dont specify the rating of the RCD/MCB.The cable type isn't specified.
To say it complies with British standards is meaningless the two quoted are for BS 4343 (which is the commando plug) and the BS 6500 is for other component parts.Cable for outdoor use should be to BS 7919 but they don't quote what cable it is or if it BASEC approved.
It doesn't say whether it is CE marked, which would confirm it is to EU standards.
BS 6500 is a standard that the manufacturer confirms their product is manufactured to, it isn't verified by British standards institute, it is a self certification.
It may be cheap, it may or may not be a good buy, but I personally would want to inspect it to ensure it meets the standards required, there is no one BS standard that covers the whole item just the component parts.

I can`t see Towsure selling anything unless it conformed entirely with all UK legislation. And there was me just trying to be helpful !!

Martin.
