We are travelling through France to Northern Spain in late July - first stop Orleans then down to Argeles and on to Girona - camping in our Icarus 500. Question is - will we need sleeping bags? OH is convinced that a sheet and light fleece blanket will do...but I can't bear the thought of cold, tired, grumpy kids.
We've only camped in UK or Brittany before where the Coleman double comfort has been essential!
In my experience even though most nights they'd be plenty warm enough there will be the chance of an odd cold night where a sleeping bag would be good to have. We have always used the lightest weight sleeping bags so I suppose it will depend on the type of fleece blanket.

V cheap Home Bargains 'throws' from their beds at home...
I take those fleece blankets as a just in case layer. Our beds are, mattress protectors, padded mattress enhancers, fitted sheet, flat sheet, thin bedspread THEN the fleece blanket ... just in case.
I'm usually the one who feels the cold.
