Hi.
My husband and I are really keen to look into buying a campsite in France but are having real difficulty finding out where to find ones which are for sale.
Does anyone have any idea which websites, publications etc might be a good start point?

Here's one http://www.leboncoin.fr/vi/3373270.htm?ca=22_s - advertised on the French equivalent of our 'Yeller' ie classified ads. Don't know any more details, but it might lead you into some useful links.
Or try this http://www.campings-en-vente.com/index.asp.
Alternatively Stu (Floydfan) who posts on here might know of useful contacts. He has a highly recommended campsite in the Loire area.
Try also the Caravanier magazine, or Le Monde du Plein Aire - both available widely in France, and I've seen sites advertised in there.

Dear Kate
My wife and I run a hotel in France, we are also ex IT engineers and have set up a website specifically for the purpose of advertising affordable tourist businesses in sought after locations, it is a professional style website with full database functionality. It is aimed specifically at people who want to run family sized businesses.
The site has been public for only one week now but we have a paid for google advertising campaign and we are contacting many french campsite owners who are advertising their campsite for sale in the french media. I cant give you references because it is "here there and everywhere" and we are spending many hours a day searching.
We do not yet have any french campsite adverts but I am confident that if you visit our site in a month or so then you will find some so please visit us a little later.
If you have never run a touristic business (especially one in a foreign country)) we would also be happy to offer you some down to Earth advice, it is possible to "live the dream" but many stary eyed folks get disapointed and worse in debt - it is not difficult to but the right business or make it work but research and knowledge is absolutely essential if the dream is to have solid foundations based on reality.
As our opening promotion we are offering 120 days free advertising so campsite owners who want to sell their business in any European location (also Aus NZ and US) can send us their adverts via the website.
Best regards
Jon

Hi Kate
We saw one last year in Southern Brittany/Northern Loire region. It has also been on the Internet French Property website. It was a small campsite with a House and 2 gites I think called Keveller. Not sure if its still for sale though.
