Have decided we would like to spend a couple of weeks on Ile de Rey. Wondered what people think is the best site. We have 8 metre twin axle so have to consider this. Camping L'Ocean seems to be favorite currently but I'd be interested to know if anyone feels there is better. We are family of with two kids 4 & 7 but whilst pool and play area is great , organized activities are not a high priority.

Sorry to be really picky, but it is because I have had too many glasses of wine, but it is actually
Ile de Re!

Sorry, can't help with the original question, other than to bump the thread!

(Don't do wine anyway - much prefer Guinness - not to be confused with Guînes, Pas de Calais)

Well done Bob, just because it is the season of goodwill, does not mean we should let fall our grammatical standards.

L'Ile, perhaps? (Alas I cannot call up the circumflex)

We are intending to spend a week or so here. I have done a rather nerdy spreadsheet on all the sites on l'Ile de Re which I am happy to send you by email.

It would seem that l'Ocean may be right for you.

We stayed at La Grainetiere last year and very much liked it. I've been meaning to do a review ever since but don't think I ever got round to it - will try to have a go this week. We were there at the very start of the season, everything was very chilled and friendly (though the Ile de Re seemed to be pretty much half closed at Easter). The pool was lovely, facilities clean and the owners very friendly and helpful - and it was extremely good value for money, esp using the ACSI card :-)

We stayed at L'Ocean for a week in May. Our Lunar Clubman is 7.3m and to get to a lot of the pitches it is a bit tight. Saying that it is a lovely site.
