Has anyone been to this campsite in Pezenas, we have booked to go for the first 2 weeks in August but ther are no reviews on here and little information anywhere else. We have been on google earth and it looks quiet and small and within easy reach of the beaches for the kids. Any feedback would be great.

There is one review on Zoover, which scores it 8 out of 10, and says:

Simple but neat campsite in a very nice town, and with the nicest and most helpful manager anywhere!

I'd agree with the comment about the town - Pezenas is delightful, and even more so on market day!  Lots of lovely places to go to the beach - we like La Tamarissiere, which is over the river from Grau d'Agde, and has dunes backed by pine trees, and several very French pizza places and small restaurants behind the beach.

If you want any more information about the area then I'd behappy to help as it's somewhere we've been back to many times over the last few years, as we have friennds who like to meet us at a campsite in that area.

Thanks Val. It looks just perfect for us, its just nice to hear it from someone else! Last year we stayed near Perpignan and loved it but wanted to try a different location and after looking at all the images on google I have fallen in love Pezanas already. We thought the beaches in the Saint Cyprien area were superb, would you say La Tamarissiere is similar, quiet and not too built up?

Much quieter than Saint Cyprien!  Here's an view from the air.  La Tamarissiere is the beach to the right of the picture, on the other side of the river is Grau d'Agde.

and the beach itself:

The beaches at Grau d'Agde, Rochelongue or Portiragnes Plage are probably more like St Cyprien.  I wouldn't go into Cap d'Agde unless you like bustle, crowded malls, and rather tatty tourist markets.

There are lovely shells in that area that we've not found anywhere else!  I love picking up what I call bubble shells - transparent, in every shade from white, through to cream, yellow, orange and pink - and I have a glass vase full of them now!

When you go to Pezanes, remember to try Le petit pâté de Pézenas‎,they are little sweet, spiced mutton pies

Must admit to not being keen on them.  To me they taste a bit like those Vesta dehydrated curries with sultanas in! Generally I like 'regional' food, but not the Le petit pâté de Pézenas as I'm absolutely not keen on meat mixed with fruit.
