I'm posting this on here, and on the UK sites section, to notify people that Broughton Hall (where I work) is to host an event which has space for 15,000 campers (not sure whether that's just tents or campers/caravans too).  I've just had details in the Broughton Hall Christmas newsletter, and these are copied from the article:

Plans are underway for next year’s Tour de France extravaganza to be held at Broughton, aptly named “The Rapha Tempest Festival of Cycling” which will see the Estate host 15,000 campers looking to celebrate the Grande Depart in Yorkshire. If you fancy coming along then please call Mike at the Estate Office on 01756 799608.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

Is that the place near Skipton?

Oh yes, you said so on the other thread.

We're already booked in too at a farm site in Simonstone, at the bottom of a very steep climb.
There are several "festival" sites opening for that weekend, think this is the third I've heard of now. Mind you, if this ones sponsored by Rapha it means it will be axactly the same as all the others, just three times the price! (cycling in-joke, sorry!)

Brilliant, although I'll probably ride ot with Yorkshire road club and ride home, its only about 60miles round trip.

Val, our choir usually  do a concert at Thornton in Craven church this weekend, followed by a few drinks at the Tempest ..not doing it this year. My freinds parenst have just bought a cottage on the outskirts of Thornton...nice part of the world.

Eighty five quid a head to camp in your own kit?!! Plus an extra forty if you have a van or camper?!

A fool and his money.......

Edit: It's not even on the route!

I think that's because it's a 'festival' rather than a campsite - with lots of other things going on, but even so, it sounds like exploitation to me!
