Hi

I have what I believe is a Bessacarr 500 GLE, believe its early 90's. Its 4 berth with end kitchen a U shaped seating area, Great van but just finding my feet with caravanning and am after some info if anyone can help. Realy could do with a manual for van, not because im struggling with anything in it but just things like tyre pressures etc. Had a good hunt on line but cant find anything. Will try and add a photo of van to profile if I can as this may help in identifying exactly what it is and if a manual is available.

Thanks for taking the time to read

regards

Paul

Why don't you phone Bessacarr direct on 01507 603496 and ask if their aftersales have the related handbook you need. If they don't they may be able to send you some related documention regarding the caravan specifications.

Are you a member of either of the two major clubs at all? If you are then you could ring their technical helpline for advice or even request to put a wanted ad in the magazine and see what response you get.

Am I right in saying that the your caravan is a twin axle model identical to the one in the link?

Hi there mrpaulhoare I can't help you with the manual but I'm sure someone will get back to you with some info on that but what I have to say is that the Bessacar was one of the bes vans ever made thats just my opinion I had one for 12 years and it never let me down in anyway. It was the Cameo 420 2 berth and I wished I had never sold it,we have a Bailey now and it not a patch on the Bessacar If you have any problems that I can help you with then please just ask and good luck with your new van.Ian

Tango - the link shows similar van but has end end bedroom. mine has the bunks along the side and the kitchen at the end.

Ian - thanks for your post, its a great van and we have no complaints, especially for our first one. We went away at easter and it was brilliant, done the camping and trailer tent and wont go back now !!

Regards

Paul

From Glass's Guide, it looks like the Cameo 500GLE was 1990 only, if so, then it should weigh 19.9cwt ex-works?.

As far as a manual is concerned, any models manual from the same era will apply, Bessacarr did not provide individual manuals for each model.
Fitted appliances will be covered by their own manuals

Thanks for your reply, had a look at the plate next to the door and its shows

serial number 15567
ex works weight 1022 kg
max laden weight 1200 kg

so im guessing that it may not be a GLE ??? Just finding it difficult to tie down exactly what model it is. Cant find any other plates on the van.

Regards

Paul
